Heat won't work and today it's -10 degrees!!
Hey guys, so I'm having issues with my heat in my 2005 civic EX. It all started as soon as winter starter and I needed heat. Didn't really realize that it was not working properly until it was really cold.
Once I realized, me and my good friend (works at Honda) went through all the possible reasons the heat could not be working.
Heat control valve: check
Enough coolant: check
All the valves and things hooked up to the controls working: check
So we proceeded to do a heater core flush. We used drain cleaner and went in through the outlet hose. Flushed it 3 times with a water/drain cleaner mixture then flushed it 1 time with clean water through outlet then one more time through inlet. Seemed to have fixed it but the next day my heat was not nearly as hot as it was the day before when we were working on it.
We started looking around and noticed that the overflow was super full (it wasn't above the cold fill line when we worked on it the day before) and that caused us to be dumbfounded. I did some researching and other people seemed to have had the same problem with the coolant running into the overflow. Some said it was a vacuum leak somewhere but most everyone said to check the head gasket. Well last week we pressure tested each cylinder and it was hitting 140 psi in each one.
So my question is, does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? I just got the car this past spring (only had 63k miles on it then, it now has 75k) and have become disappointed that in a year I have already had to fix so many things on it.
I appreciate all replies and suggestions!

3rd vote for a failed head gasket. Common issue with these engines.
Might want to consider performing the timing belt and water pump service at the same time for save on labour $.
