Head gasket questions
I'm doing the head gasket on my civic and I have a few questions. I bought a head gasket kit that comes with pretty much everything needed but there are a few that I don't know what they are for. I attached a picture of the gaskets I couldn't identify. (1st pic)
Also, in the manual it talks about replacing the oil control orifice o-ring. The manual shows it goes inside the head, under the valve train, but a picture in a rebuild thread makes it look like it sits on top of the head? Which is it?
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Head gasket questions
I'm pleased to report 1000 miles including a 5 hour trip since I installed the new head gasket and no overheating. It's the first time I've tried such an invasive repair on any of my vehicles and it feels good.

Re: Head gasket questions
Thanks NDNV! Total time spent was about 15 hours, but 7 of them we're working up the motivation to actually work. It wasn't super difficult. The hardest was getting the crank pulley bolt off then on and overcoming my own pessimistic expectations.
I went cheap on the gasket and it's been fine. Got a kit on eBay from mizumo auto. $45. S&S milled the head and installed an insert for the spark plug thread. I would recommend them to anyone In Mesa / Phoenix area. They were patient when I was asking my million dumb questions. The work was done well and as promised.
