eventual k swap

eventual k swap
want to get a k24 ecu and motor, out a element, crv, oddesy or tsx. a k20 6 speed. put stage 2 cams in it. Is the I-Vtec in the element, crv, and oddesy the same as a type S I-Vtec? If it is stage 2 cams should put it over 240 hp. and from what i read a k motor is a k motor, and a crv motor hold as much hp and turn as much rpm as a type S? Right?

the ecu won't work, you need kpro.
as far as the vtec goes, i dont think its the same thing. the best bang for your buck is the k24a2 (tsx)
everyone who has the crv or element bottom ties it up with the k20a2 head (hence the term frankenstein)
i hope that answered your question a little bit. you should join and search around on k20a.org
i've learned most of my stuff there. i'm going k24a4 (accord) + k20a2 head in my eg...

K24a1/3/4 = Accord CRV and element = 160hp, 15?trq i believe ( roughly)
K24a2 = TSX = 200hp, 16?-15? trq
Not all k20's are 6 speed. K20a3's have a 5 speed. K20a2/k20a = 6 speed models.
A K24a1/3/4 and a k20a3 have a WAY lower redline than a k24a2,k20a2,k20a.
I believe its 6800 or so, apposed to the latter's 7800+
All my #'s are ROUGH, i am to lazy to search, you can do that. But they are close.
IMO, k24a2 or k20a are the best bang for buck, but with the k24's im 85% sure u need to use a K20 tranny, i dont think hasport has released a kit yet to use k24 tranny's.
No the Vtec is not different, read the VTEC EXPLAINED stickied thread at the top of the list, it will explain the differences.
K20a2/k24a2/k20a all have the better "i-vtec" than the k24a1/3/4 and the k20a3.
Hope that made some sense, i had another 11 hour day at work and im to tired to be typing.

Re: eventual k swap (B18a_CRX)
The vtec explained threat is only about Variable Valve Timing and Lift on old SOHCs. explains nothing about the cam timing, what i mean with my question is about the VVT part, see a 02-06 Si has VVT on only the intake cam, a RSX has it on both. Does the TSX have VVT on both cams, Does the Element? does the accord? what VVT systems do these motors have. But thank you both for the info, im gonna look up k20a.org

The reason for the "old technology", is because thats what is in our cars.
The reason I didnt post much on i-VTEC, is because no OEM EM2's use it, and I dont know too much about it.

RSX-S/TSX have the "better"( for lack of a better word) i-vtec
the base rsx/civic si/element/crv/accord
have the "worse" i-vtec
THe RSX-S and the TSX more closely resembles that of the older DOHC VTEC style.
