Default Does Exedy Clutch and flywheel need to be Balanced?

My mechanic friend told me absolutely do not replace the flywheel unless I have it done at a machine shop because the flywheel is balanced to the crank, and I will never be able to get it done right. I plan on getting an Exedy stage 1 clutch, flywheel, release bearing set, and installing myself, but I want to know if my mechanic friend is just trying to get me to have him do it, or if this really is a common problem?

This Exedy clutch and flywheel sets seem to be popular, but I'm not finding any definite answers as to whether it has to be Balanced to the crank during installation. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks in advance.

I have used flywheels from USDM motors onto JDM motors and never had any problems......but then again I did not rev them to the max. Most all high performance parts like that are well balanced from the factory to neutral state......would not think you would have any trouble.....

i've replaced flywheels before. no, the factory does not balance the crank with the flywheel, that's ridiculous. flywheels are balanced on their own and will come balanced from Exedy.
