DIY: EDM Rear Fog Install (updated 10/24/08)
Items Needed:
-EDM Fog w/ Garnish & Bracket (eBay)
--Coupes, use one off a EK9 or 4thgen Prelude (i used one off the 4thgen prelude)
--Sedans, use one off a DC2 since they have an angle (check jdmland.com for pics)
-07-08 Honda Fit Combination Switch (35255-S5K-F12)
-30A Bosch Relay (eBay, get one with the pigtail)
-30ft of 16G Wire (20ft going to the fog and 10 going to relay, switch, grounds, etc)
1. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery
2. Make a template using the lip of the garnish. This will be used to cut the hole. (i used masking tape & a sharpie)
3. For the coupes, place the template a bit higher than this. If you go any lower it will interfere with the crash beam.
For the 04-05 sedans, place the template here. not to sure about the 01-03 sedans yet.
(thanks for the pic 03civicdopejmd from honda-tech)
4. Using a dremel w/ a cut-off wheel, cut inside the line and test fit the garnish. If trimming has to be made, do it in small increments with a sanding bit.
5. Remove the garnish behind the steering wheel. There are 3 screws on the bottom.
6. Remove the old combination switch. There are 2 screws. Once that is removed use a small flathead on the little notch to expand the switch housing so the switch can be pulled out.
7. On the connector, add 2 pins to the locations in red. (you can get pins from another honda at your local junkyard)
8. Slide in the new switch & re-attach the 2 screws and the connector.
9. Remove the access panel to the fusebox and the coinholder.
10. Find a place to mount the relay. I mounted mine behind the coinholder.
11. Here’s a simple wiring diagram to show you where everything goes.
12. I got the 12v where my front fogs gets its 12v.
13. I routed pole 30 from the relay thru the driver's side door sill & rear panel.
14. At the foglight, i used quick disconnects in the event i have to remove my rear bumper
15. Finished product.

very nice. i thought you just hooked it up to your fog switch or another oem fog switch.
props for this! i'm guessing the reminder tone goes off if you accidentally leave it on?

they go here (see the red dots in the connector)
one of the pins go to the relay and the other goes to a 12v source. doesn't matter which one. (check wiring diagram)

i think you may have it in the wrong spot for the 04-05 bumpers, unless there different on coupes but this is how the 04-05's should look, which is the way imma do it sorry to blow the bubble

A painted frame from the rear fog looks much better by this color :-)
with a black car it doesn't matter that the frame is black.
so go and make it </TD></TR></TABLE>
very nice. i have a question for you. can you turn on your rear fog independently or does the headlights have to be on?

the coupe is different. dark_maul has a 04 and his is in the same location as mine. btw, is the 01-03 sedan rear fog in the same location as the 04-05?

Re: (jamescardenas07)
the foglight only lights up, when the headlights are switched on
and additional a controllamp lights up beside the other controllamps,
like the controllamp by switching on the fullbeam of the frontlights
but the front fogs you can switch on seperately from the rear fog light.

nice, what about to install the rear fog on both sides?
what do you think, will it look nice or just too much if there are 2 in the rear spoiler?
