Friggin mouse chewed through one of my fuel injector connector wires near the base of the connector for my 2001 civic DX 1.7L and I have to splice it back into the harness. However, I have to reconnect 2 new 20gauge wires back to the connector as a pigtail so I can splice it back to the harness. I was able to remove the blue retainer and the orange seal from the black connector, but can't seem to remove the terminal/wire/seal from the rear of the black FI connector. Here are some pics from a website that sells the FI connectors part so that readers have an idea of what I am referring to:

I can't seem to find the release tab on the terminal to pull the wire/seal/terminal assembly from the rear of the FI connector. I tried using a thin precision screw drive and 45 degree angle pick to prod and depress what I could from the terminal from the front of the black connector but can't seem to remove the terminal out from the back. What the heck am I don't wrong? I need to get this fixed so that I can get my car back on the road. I would appreciate any assistance anyone can provide. I tried searching through this forum and from youtube but could not find instructions that where more specific to the terminal connectors for this type of FI connector.

Got it resolved. Tech8's post was instrumental in figuring it out. It turns out I was using too large a tool so that it couldn't be inserted deep enough. Used a smaller flat head screw driver and inserted in the right place and it released the wire/terminal from the rear of the connector.
