Acoord 2004 - PO741
I have accord 2004 Ex V6. recently I having issue with transmission. Check engine light came on and turned of by itself but when we checked it code was P0741 which says TCC solenoid issue.
Symptoms of my car is that, when I start to drive it everything is normal and it shifts perfectly. After 10-15 minutes abnormalities starts and it does not shift and I can not go beyond 20-25 mph. Engine seems like choking. But if I stop the car completely, wait 1-2 minutes and start again everything gets back to normal.
Also yesterday I took out dual pressure control solenoids to clean up. Measured resistance was around 5.6 ohm.
Do you think it is some solenoid issue or something internal? And fi you think it is internal. is it something related to torque converter?

This is the 01-05 Civic forum. You're better off posting in the Accord specific forum. Be sure to let them know more details of your car like mileage and maintenance history. P0741 is related to the torque converter, yes, but can be pretty generic when it comes to automatic transmissions in general and requires some very specific troubleshooting.
If it's anything similar to my buddy's 2002 Civic, it had the classic loss of drive after 15-30 minutes and the transmission needed to be rebuilt. It would also drive again after 2-5 minutes of sitting for a little bit. Not saying this is your problem, but just be aware if an automatic throws a code it's usually not good.

The consensus from the transmission shop was that enough debris had clogged the internal filter which would stop all drive after a few minutes of driving. It's extremely common according to them and this forum. It was an $1100 local rebuild and there were more than 6 parts that had to be replaced but I don't have the invoice since it was in my buddy's name. We also had a few transmission codes come up. We're finishing the job tomorrow actually and I might be able to find out more.
