d17a2 oil draing plug tap
 
does anyone have any info on the thread and pitch of a stock oil drain plug on a d17a2 motor?

google some how lead me to this;

But, if you're going to be tapping that hole, you may want to remove the oil pan first.

go to www.goldplug.com and order a magnetic drain plug.

got it guys. I tried to tap it. still not enough threads to keep the plug tight.
had to remove it. wasnt too fun. removed the exhaust manifold from the block and dropped it down out of the way. I could shimmy the pan out without removing those rusty ass spring and flange bolts. applied sealer, good to go now. oh btw, I had a spare oil pan.
