Civic Maintenance
Well, I am going to be getting a Civic Auto EX 01-05...
What kind of maintenance needs to be done and when aside from what's in the manual schedule?
Any need to change things on stock setup because they went unexpectedly or turns out to be a potentially common issue?
TIA

I also heard a few people claiming their automatic transmission is pretty weak.
i have an 01 at 52,000 miles and so far so good...

Re: Civic Maintenance (kcari)
I'm sure this will quickly get locked...just as the last one did.
EDIT: Sorry...It must have got unlocked...or I'm seeing things
But I would advise against the Auto Trans...Mine's an Auto and the trans has already gone out at 40K miles.
Oh and nothing needs to be done in addition to routine maintenance

Re: Civic Maintenance (Soon2RideEX05)
i think it's totally related to driving style. the automatics are simply not meant to see aggressive driving on a regular basis. while there might be a few turkeys here and there and the driver had nothing to do with it, i'd be willing to be most failures are directly correlated to exhorbitant stresses from driving.
however, that said....
a manual transmission on a car is SO much less complicated in many ways. to service, to replace, etc etc....
and the performance is superior, without question.
my vote goes against procuring an auto!
If i had to get a daily that was out of warranty, i'd get a 5spd 2000 EX or DX hatch with moderate miles, the last of the 6th gens. they can be found for a bit of a premium, but the overall design of those cars was so simple and unflawed.
