Buying 01 civic, Help me hondatech
As the title says I found a 01 civic, silver 100.xxx miles for 4500 (manual of course) from a local dealer
I own a 90 integra DA at the moment, was wondering in comparison how this car is from true honda-tech 01 civic owners I know nothing about the d17 to be honest or this model civic, i didn't use to like the styling but i fell in love with this car for some reason and its affordable So.. I was wondering the reliability of this car and the common flaws (like the waterleaks on DA's) and idc if the motor is weaker this is becoming my DD and my DA is getting boosted -Any common problems -Any recalls -Opinions of the motor/trans/clutch I am soon to be commuting 30min to school (transfering from community college) Mods I plan on are just a good clean drop/volks/lip kit/stock spoiler All opinions and comments welcome! |

airbag recall on the 01's common problems? auto trans on 01-03 but u dont have to worry about that... opinons on motor, trans, clutch? keep it stock especially since you will have a boosted da as a project car. aww i miss my volks......rip.... http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k1...23/bryce-1.jpg |

Because it is fun to drive manual each and every day.
you can control your car more with manual, need to pass, go a gear or 2 down and floor it. brakes go out, u can down shift and use E-Brake to stop dead battery = u can pop the clutch and get going etc.. so many reasons I love a manual more |
Re: Buying 01 civic, Help me hondatech
lol you listed a couple things I really wouldn't do there bro....dead battery and popping the clutch to start it...good luck getting a new clutch all the time...not a good idea there....2nd the brakes...R u serious bro...downshift and e-brake..O boy....
Manuel is better b/c you have control over the car a lot more...Plan and simple |
