I am completely at a dead end here and was hoping to maybe get an idea or two that could send me in the right direction.

A customer towed his car to my place and stated that he was driving on the highway when out of no where the car shut off. He said it didn't bog down or slowly choke out, it just all at once cut off.

The car will start completely normal. No hiccups, not running rough as if a cylinder or two were dropped out. Then after a second or two dies right out, almost as if an electrical switch.

Since he dropped it off I have checked the following:

-I can hear the fuel pump priming every time the key cycles to II (ON).
-Timing belt is good and tight, and timing marks correct.
-TPS sensor was back probed and it is outputting proper voltage (0.5V to 4.5V).
-Removed aftermarket alarm system that didn't work anymore thinking maybe it was shorting out the key cylinder
-Checked continuity for the ignition cylinder connector at the fuse box
-Ran the main relay test per Honda manual and it looked like the 5 pin relay was bad but when I replaced it from an s2000 with another Honda 5 pin relay it made no difference
-No CEL's. Computer has been reset by pulling fuse in the engine bay fuse box as well as pulling negative terminal on the battery for 20-30 minutes


I have read about every other thread in regards to this issue and it seems every other 01-05 civic that has this issue solves it in a different manner.

Any ideas? I am going to run that relay test again. Another plan is to try and find a known good ecu and swap it in and see if that helps at all.
I am also considering testing the ELD as well.
