2002 Civic LX Cylinder 1 & 3 misfire
Hello everyone, i would like to start off by thanking you for taking the time to read this.
About a week ago my check engine light turned on and the car began to tremble slightly more than before. I later purchased a scanner to check what the problem was and it said Cylinder 1 misfire detected (P0301). I then switched the first Ignition coil pack with the third one to see if it was that. The scanner then displayed that there was a misfire in cylinders 1 & 3. However, after switching the ignition coil packs back to their place the scanner still said that there were misfires in cylinders 1&3, as well as a message that said "Random - Multiple misfires detected (P0300)". I replaced the first ignition pack after noticing that it was torn from the rubber end that connected to the spark plug. After driving it around the car stopped trembling for a bit and seemed to become more powerful in terms of acceleration, but began to tremble again after a few minutes. When i got home, i reconnected the scanner and it gave me the same codes (P0300, P0301, P0303). Throughout the entire this time, the check engine light remained on. What could be the issue?

Not that this helps your problem...but I believe that the check engine light will not go off until you turn it off with the scanner. Even if you remedy the problem.
