Go to Autozone or Advance auto online, set up your vehicle info, then search for replacement belt. Choose the belt intended for one without A/C.

Do they have both in stock? If they do, look if they have the same part numbers.
If they are not the same part numbers, get the lx with no ac.
Or get both and return the one that does not fit.

They're the same exact engine, the D17A1. The LX comes with AC, it is an option for the DX.
See here: 2001 Honda Civic Coupe Features - Honda.com
Simply tell them, you need a alternator belt for a D17A1 w/ no AC. Done.

So.... I think it is an option for most, even if there r no belts sold specifically as "no ac included". What happened was my belt broke bc the compressor wasn't working causing friction to snap it in two. Thought I was completely stranded bc any other full size belt would have broken against the compressor as well, but I made it to the autozone without overheating too much where I got a belt shorter then what it calls for a Honda CR-V. Went thru 3 by trial and error before finding the right size to bypass the ac compressor. Had to get one thinner as well because there were none the right width AND length to bypass the ac compressor. So it is a little thinner, few inches shorter, and is a tight fit but all the strange things noises going on with my car stopped. For now I just really really need my car to run me from point A to point B so I hope by doing this it doesn't lead to further problems. Ac just doesn't work but it didn't prior to changing the belt bc the bearings as well. They should really have a separate belt for critical operations such as the alternator ect, and the ac which is not required to run the damn car, sperately. There's no damn reason they should make it so that if ur ac compressor goes out, that the whole damn car goes out. Now I'm left wondering if I can change the bearing out and if my ac will start working. Or if I have to buy an all new compressor:/ expensive fix unfortunately. But not a reason y my car shouldnt run!
