Default 2001 HONDA CIVIC

1HNXV01.7YJ9 OBD II
Which sensor supplies the signal that the tach uses for reference. I have a no start and no Tach, ( no tach while cranking ) but occasionally while cranking I would get intermittent tach operation and engine would start. but when tach dropped out so did engine.

Check grounds to the engine. Pretty sure tach runs on the crank position sensor. Check for CEL codes

That doesn't sound like a viable 7th gen vin # by the way.
