Yeah, I had a friend who put 18s on his '96 Civic. I drove it, and even at stock height it rubbed a little on tight turns. Nothing too major, though. But 18s will work on a Civic just fine.

18's are too big, too heavy, too ugly on a 2000 civic (my opinion), you might even have to put a lift on your **** for those rims to fit

even with 215-35 they will rub a little. Mines rubbed on u turns and on some dips if you have a soft suspension. I say dont cut corners. Roll the fenders, and take out the fender liner, and you shouldnt have a problem. My friend did that and even slammed i dont think i ever heard his car rub. Im talking fender down to the lip of the rim on the back

Re: (Pworld)
by taking out your fender liner, aren't you just a little bit worried about moisture/water finding it's way upward to the engine?
my boy took his fender liner out for one night when we went racing because his **** rubbed, then the next morning he found water inside the engine through the intake (doesn't even have to be cold air if you take out your fender liners to take in water)...and all he did was drive through one puddle because we had to...

Re: Will 18's fit my 2000 civic? (jdmhatch1)
You can. If you do, don't get any larger than a 18x7.5 rim and 215/35/18 tire. That is pretty much the largest you can go and still have no rubbing. You can even lower it about 1 inch and still get no rubbing, but any lower and you may get a rub.
Do what you want, not what people say you should do.

The passenger-side fender lining on my EJ8 is practically gone (rubbed away when it kept popping out of the bumper), and I've never had dirt/moisture/mud/dust/etc. enter my engine bay. I've driven through plenty of mud (even got stuck once ), rain, dirt roads, and never had a problem. I think I'm one of the lucky few, though.
