yang!
I was flipping through top gear the other day, and apparently there is talk of the 2006 Elise hitting US shores using the 1.8T from Audi. b18's are by far the engine of choice for European owners.

No the rover engine is the base engine and it's supposed to run 0-60 in 5.4 to 5-7.
The upgraded motor option is the Celica GTS motor that runs it in 4.4 to 4.6.

Re: Type R Lotus Elise (dgonzals)
dude i would get one of those any day if i had the funds! hands down would kill a ITR,evo, STI, corvett.... anything.
and the best part is it runs 12.2 in stock form.
add some tiens, 15 drag radials, Jun3, portflow head, bolt ons and you'll easly be into the 11's on a super streetable car.

12.2 is modded. i dont believe they sell the c5 in its stock form.

Re: Type R Lotus Elise (dgonzals)
i love these cars, but i like the exige model with the hardtop a little better. but im pretty sure that its only available in the uk unfortunately. those things are awesome but have cooling problems.
