Here you guys go! This is my little project/rescue car the paint is gloss black from Rustoleum. This is at the current stage with 2 coats of base with a wet sand with 1000 grit and NO CLEAR. For 2 coats its already pretty shiny. I am planning on doing a 3rd base coat and wet sand with 1200 grit and then getting some clear coat on top to make it pop. But for now enjoy this poor mans paintjob!
Picked it up for $1000 bucks with a fresh swap from Osaka and a total amount spent on paint was $64 bucks. 12 cans. No real reason to spend more than the car on paint.
eventually when I get this thing in more mechanically better shape and a few upgrades ill be filling the dents as well as the side moldings (I hate side moldings...)
EDIT: Sorry for the dirt on the car, my driveway is gravel/dirt

I posted my car on p. 17 right after I painted it. I never wetsanded, polished, or waxed the car for a few years and it became satin over time:
2008 ish:
2009:
Then I got tired of seeing satin so I wet sanded w/ 2000 grit & polished:
The best part is people ask what kind of paint and they say "No really" when I say I bought 12 cans of Rustoleum for $48. No clear coat either. I had a couple of extra cans in case I ever need to touch-up. Budget build

Yeah the second link says 'army green' and 'gloss protective enamel'. I have a spare bumper/lip that I want to play with and see how it looks, just wanted to get the right paint.

just wanted to add this, couldn't find the person. they were saying that longterm the paint becomes chalky. if you want long term finish, clear coats has to be used. just like two parts paints. the durability is in the clear, not the color coat. in rattle cans, seems the UV protection is also in the clear, not the base/color.
