Need pics of a Cusco cage in a DC2 Integra

Please post pics of Cusco 6pt. cage in DC2's. I want to see the mounting. Mainly in the back. Where does it bolt to in the back? Do you lose the back seat?

Thanks.

Re: Need pics of a Cusco cage in a DC2 Integra (crx_kid)

It mounts directly ontop of the rear wheel wells. I wish the pics were bigger but this is all I got so far, sorry bro. You lose the seats in the rear aswell with this cage..

Is it really safe to have these seat belts mounted in this location? I've heard mounting the seats belts this low will actually compress your spine in the case of an accident.

Doesn't the Cusco cage for the DC have no welds? The last one I saw was completely bolted to the car. http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

thats a pretty poor excuse for a "cage:...the joins are weak, no harness bar, and the bends make it totally unsafe.....oh well, it's blue, right?>

no, the cusco cage is shit.

I wouldn't even drive in a car with that cage in it, none the less expect it to protect me in a rollover. . .

it's not a debate.....

it's simply fact vs false sense of security

Those are actually mounted to the right anchor points.

no they're not. Those "anchor points" are for the rear seat belts, NOT for a harness.

If you know anything about safety and harnesses, you know these are unsafe. THey should be mounted about 90* at shoulder height to avoid the risk of spinal compression

Re: Need pics of a Cusco cage in a DC2 Integra (Emerika)

i agree that the bends arnt the best , joints definatly are kinda weak and no harness bar , but i would rather have this in a roll over then nothing....according to a past threads this cage held up in a roll over!!! but for a full racecar i dont think it makes the cut in anyway!

EH2_pReStO 07-19-2004 09:40 AM

I feel what Emerica is saying..but its a nice blue. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: Need pics of a Cusco cage in a DC2 Integra (Emerika)

Its a show car dude, lay off.

I have the cusco cage in my ride and I feel safe with it on the track. I also wear hans, so Im not to worried about "the quality of jdm shit" ... because I have seen lots of cars in GT Touring with Cusco cages, not to mention a couple flipped up with the Safety 21 cages, and the driver was fine.

can you pls show us proof that these cage will crumble in a roll or accident. cause i have seen some in a roll and the hold up pretty well.

not flaming just courious why so many people don't like bolts on the cage, when bolts are just as stong as welds, (right kind of bolts)

as far as the harness locations, sure harness bar would be better, but again as long as the seats don't give in a wreck, and your shoulder is not pass the harness hole on tha seats then there is no reason i could see on how would it put prs. on the spine, the prs. would be on the seats. i have been in a few wreck and seen a few wreck with this harness location and practically walked away. (i have hit a wall dead on and other than the wind getting knocked out of me i was ok, with some bruises

btw, back to the topic, yes you could keep the back seats, but its not safe to have rear pass. and there would be no room for a rear pass.

edit, that pic is for schroth harness, different manufacturers recomend different locations. (don't know why)
edit again: i just look at the pic carefully, location "D" is a suitable mounting location.

show me proof where I said it will crumble. I never said it will crumble, I said it's unsafe. True, it MAY be better than nothing, but that doesn't say a whole lot.

I have an Autopower bolt-in in my car. While it';s still bolted in, it is a TOTALLY different style. The bars actually slip over each other and overlap for a good 6 inches and are bolted together twice in that distance. Making it strong, yet easy to remove/install. Whereas the Cusco has a simple fork design at the most critical area.

Why don't you think the SCCA allows this for competition use. You may say, well, Japan does!. Well, we're not in Japan and they're safety regulations are well sub-par.

esponet 07-19-2004 09:57 AM

liek i said, i have seen many rolls and i have seen them hold up. i've yet to see a cusco or cage 21 cage fail. sure, i'm not arguing the fact that there are better desing out there.but autopower is also alot heavier, and scca might not allow this, but the rest of the world seem to allow it. and a person is not racing scca, or just merely doing hpde, then why not.

If you look at that diagram...point d is also a suitable location for an anchor.

Using a 4 pt.
https://store3.yimg.com/I/soloracerdotcom_1691_104231

I dont see why the cusco cage doesnt come with a main horizontal brace in the main hoop. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

the only thing i don't like about jdm bars on usdm cars is that the pass. is better protected, unless you opt. for the "X" brace.
