Looking for some input, What do you all think?
Hey everyone!
I just kinda wanted to come in and post my little story, and show off my hatch to everyone (not much of a looker, so don't get to excited
This car was bought BRAND new off the lot in 1991 *as a 92 obviously* by my father and mother White, Bottom of the line, CX Hatch, Manual, with A/C *I was 5 when the car was purchased, my mom wanted A/C*
My parents divorced in 96, and the car went with my dad, where it basically just sat in the city as he didn't like driving it in the city (sub 100K on the body of this car to this day) in 2005 My father got in a wee bit of trouble with the IRS and child support people who wanted money, sure enough, in Oct of 2006, he signed the car over to me simply so they couldn't take it. The headgasket promptly let go from sitting for so long, and I bought a new car *07 Focus* as I was just starting a new job and wanted a reliable newer car.
Over the course of the next year and a half, the car underwent a TON of changes, and has come to a stand-still yet again after blowing the differential in its fresh B18B1 swap's transmission (finished the swap earlier this month)
So Tell me what you think everyone?? This car will stay with me for as long as I can keep it, and will become something fantastic (bodywork and paint will obviously help that quite a bit, )
The car's current modifications are pretty much all hidden when the hood is closed, which is nice of course.
1996 B18B1 'LS Swap' running off a OBD1 PR4 ECU
1995 B18B1 5 speed Trans (blown diff after a week of beating)
home-made poly filled motor mounts
new honda shift linkage
B+M Stainless dual bend Short Shifter
GSR Shift ****
Amber front corners
no-name intake rattle-canned flat black
Stainless 2.25 exhaust
'Cherry Bomb Turbo' Muffler painted flat black
LX EG8 gauge cluster (6500RPM redline)
16 inch Enkei rims *old rims* with P205/40/16 Fuzion tires
Mods soon to come:
new springs/struts all around
entire front end is having all bushings replaced upper and lower
pulling stereo back out, and putting block-off back in
Gutting rear interior
rear disk swap
Mods planned for this winter:
Body work, Paint, and Boost
The D15B8/B7 Hybrid
The D15B8/D16Y8 Hybrid (My first experiance with VTAAAK)
New motor going in finally
The B18B1!!! Because You don't need Vtec with Torque

Thanks for the kind words.......
Car got underbody coated back in 92, so the car is solid, just has the typical honda rust in the rear quarters, and needs a new rear bumper and hood from being banged up in the city, past that it just needs prep and paint.

We did, the pic of the new motor was right after the swap.
Sorry that it looks scrappy, but thats because it is, body needs TLC but nothing that isn't salvageable.

Thanks for the comment.

I know this is the visual section, but I meant input as in, what visual things should be changed, what would be recommended, etc. The car looks like **** right now, and I'm WELL aware of it...

I'm sure he may even be a little excited about your project.
Don't listen to these guys knocking you about the looks.
Just work from the inside->out like you are right now, then you can worry about body and all of the little accessories later on.
Got to make sure it doesn't just sit-pretty.
Have fun

Thank you for the kind words! I would have put this thread in Tech, but there is no real 'tech' in it, so this is the only real area I felt I 'should' post it. It was just kinda meant to be a "take a look at how far its come" kinda thing.
Next 3 things coming up in the next few months are Integra seats, Rear disk swap, and a high possibility of boost
After thats done, Suspension and body work will take over.

All I have so far is 2 'write up' threads I made, do a search for "Dan's Massive" or something, I did a write-up on D16Y8 head onto D15B8 block in a 5th gen, and then the B18B1 swap write-up in my signature, Check them both out.
