JDM Reverend's JDM 1986 Honda City Turbo II
Hey everyone, it's time for another episode of JDM Reverend's rides. Few months ago I put out an APB on Facebook looking for this car, not expecting to find it pretty much in my own backyard at Locash Racing in Phoenix Arizona.
Before I took delivery, I took some pictures of it: http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...86649301_o.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...22334920_o.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...43289913_o.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...37599509_o.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...88155705_o.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...98094086_o.jpg I made the newb mistake of posting up something I didn't own yet and apparently my haters who instead of being happy for me trying to get a nice car tried selling it from underneath me so I needed to take action and put down a deposit until I got my funds for the car, which was a month late. In the end I got the car for what I wanted to pay for it even though people tell me I could have gotten it for much less, but to me I was perfectly fine paying asking price. Rolled the car out of his shop and transported it to my shop for a makeover. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...61593167_n.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...50051694_o.jpg The car has been back and forth between his shop and his home over the last 11 years. So when I finally got it, it was time to clean it up and make it my own car. So while searching online for some ideas of how the car looks, I discovered a guy who makes model cars and he did a City Turbo II which inspired me to make a similar pinstripe and get similar wheels. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...rbo/city08.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...rbo/city05.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...rbo/city07.jpg Got my decals made for the car http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...67065879_n.jpg The Honda City was the first car to offer another vehicle as an option, the Motocompo is a 49cc two-stroke fold-up motorcycle. It's not super fast, but it's still cool nonetheless. I spent awhile looking for one and found one on craigslist in Washington state. Daniel at NWClassicHonda drove over to get it for me and shipped it to me 3 day express to me in California, and I picked it up on Saturday, literally the day before Eibach. Not to mention that in that same day, but earlier I picked up my 15 inch Racing Hart D-Spec Superlative rims. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...79344236_n.jpg So I picked up the car on a Tuesday, and on Saturday I got the motocompo, and Sunday was the first time the car was out in the public in over 11 years. Here's how it looked the first time. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...4f2af473_b.jpg My lower fogs were CIBIE's and made of glass, the housing's were rusted out and it was just a matter of time until one of them shattered on me on the way back from Eibach. So without the fogs, I removed the front OEM optional lip kit and the fogs and took it back to California for another meet without that stuff... http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_4244.jpg Eventually I got the OEM plastic stanley fogs, and was ready to paint the front and rear bumpers because the OEM paint didn't hold up well on the plastic as much as they did the rest of the car. Then disaster struck... Someone in the middle of the night backed up into the City and damaged the front end. I was so mad! But I had a friend who's 70 year old grandfather from Brasil was a master paint and body man and had me fixed up in no time. So here's the rest of the pictures of the car in it's current state, enjoy a piece of rare Honda History. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...2dbefe73_b.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...a145b548_b.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...fe1bb089_b.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...68dc4510_b.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...b555646a_b.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_4261.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_4255.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_4370.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...28ed2389_b.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_1630.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_1612.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_1627.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_1634.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_4355.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_4330.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_4350.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_0984.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_1573.jpg Thanks for checking out my thread, comments welcome! http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...o/IMG_4383.jpg |

Re: JDM Reverend's JDM 1986 Honda City Turbo II
Its about 110hp stock. Doesn't sound like much now, but back then for a Honda that was really fast. It was actually the fastest out of all other Japanese cars in that catagory in it's time. Suspension needs to be replaced, that and tire size is why it wasn't dropped to where I would like it to be. Since you can't off the shelf a suspension you have to make some custom parts and modify another suspension. Saw a write up about it on another forum in Australia.

Re: JDM Reverend's JDM 1986 Honda City Turbo II
Looks good! It sucks that I missed the show. Having owned an 84 Honda City myself I know that they are great cars. I was lucky enough to be stationed in Okinawa in the early 90's and learned how to drive stick in one.I taught myself body work and installed my first system in it. I remember seeing the yellow one Darkside Motoring had at Eibach a few years back. Congratulations!
