Default Is it really worth it to spend all that money on your Honda?

Lately I have been looking at this issue, and since paint will cost 3 g's and rims 2 g's, brakes 1 g... my car isnt even WORTH that much... i would much rather drive a stock 240sx or something... how do you justify modding your honda?

yes, its just one of those days

It all depends on where your priorities are. Like for me I think it's worth it but who knows what I will think 10 years down the road. I say do what makes you feel good, and if modding honda's is what you like, it can't be a waste, I mean what else you gonna spend your money on?

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm spending money faster then I could pour it out of a bucket on my prelude for a big turbo build up - a nice stock 350Z or S2000 sounds nice.

It is like that modding ANY car. It is not an investment by any means. I sometimes wonder how come I spend so much money on my car, and thinik about how if I wasn't into cars, I would probably have some money in the bank. But then I remember that making my car into a dope-ride-ho-getter puts a smile on my face.

Honestly, I think you are trying to justify jumping on the 240sx bandwagon.

I love modifying and putting ALL my money/time in the civic. It's just looking at it knowing that this is mine and i've put all the money in it and countless hours working on it. Putting a smile on my face when I drive it justifies the money/time i put in it

One basic principle is you never get money out of a car that you put into a car. Its not worth it at all.

Eh, do what makes you happy. Hobbies aren't investments and if you are looking at cars in general as an investment then you should re-evaluate your investment strategy.

Who cares how much money you're spending as long as you are having fun and can afford to do so?

I modded the crap out of my old 99 Si (turbo, susp, the works), sold it and bought an S2000, now I'm working on that. I wouldnt be happy with any stock car and the time spent installing all the parts I spent all that money on is what I enjoy. That and getting use out of them. It entertains me and its in my blood, thats why I do it.
