Show car turned race car "for a weekend"- Shoebox at the AutoX
I have had my 90 Civic since 1996, pretty much built it from the ground up to be a weekend fun car/show car. Did pretty good in the show scene, but I needed to do something more fun. I found out a local auto x event was going on near me, I said the hell with it, packed up my goods and went to the event. What a blast I had! If you have never tried to auto X, do it!!! You really learn alot about your car, more then you can ever learn on the street. I did pretty good also for my first time out. I placed 32nd out of 81 cars and first in the SMF class. Pics by Justin Jermacans. Hope you guys enjoy!

Auto-crossing is definitely a fun outlet for a car enthusiast. I was a two-time SCCA Solo II champion myself. If you don't want to put this car through the gamut (which I wouldn't blame you) and you can afford to, go out and get another car just for these events. It can get addicting. Especially if you join with SCCA and are competing for points.
