I recently did this in my EK sedan.. I used 2 packs of rid dye per passenger area (front passenger, front driver, etc) and it turned out nice and even. Ill take pictures later though..

**Update** 4-7-08
Interior still looks good. On the actual seat cushion, you can see the original colored fabric design much more clearly.. But it's been over a year and I've sat in my car almost every day since I dyed them.
The carpet however, is a different story.
The dye has come up in several places. I don't blame the dye, I blame the cleaning job (or lack there-of) on the carpet. I didn't think it would come out that great and I didn't clean the carpet at all.
When you dye/paint sand, what happens when you vacuum? The dye'd sand comes up and the un-dyed carpet shows.
One day, I'll pull my carpet, clean it properly and dye it again. I'd also like to get some new seats that are in better condition than mine, with better felt material.. which will let the dye stick better to the material.
I'll try and remember to get some updated pics soon.

you need to burn those sunglasses and visor though, ***** haggard. </TD></TR></TABLE>
My wife MADE me retire my hat this year.. like 3 weeks ago It was REALLY rough. And those aren't just sunglasses: They're prescription. I've got an eye condition that forces me to wear em.. But thats another story.

Part <FONT COLOR="red">2</FONT>: DIY Black carpet
So the first time I did this, I didn't know if it was going to work or not. I didn't vacuum the carpet, I didnt clean it: Nothing. I just sprayed it and let er' rip! Well, that came back to bite me, as when I sprayed it without cleaning it, I just sprayed dirt and the first time I vacuumed it, some of the dye came off.
SO, I decided to go back and do it one more time, except I'd clean it good and take more time on the project overall.
Here goes....
Whis is what she looked like after I had sprayed it with a high pressure cleaner and blew it with an air hose at work for who knows how many times. Great way to clean it BTW, dirt just blows right out of the carpet!
Yes, the above ='s fail, I know. But it'll be ok because now that it's cleaned, I can do a better job!
Time to start painting... err dying. Whatever
The flash makes it look lighter than it is.. It's very black.
I did run out though.. I used 2 cans and I layed it on thick. I'd spray vertically, then I'd go back and spray it horizontally, hoping to get ALL of the carpet fibers dyed.
This is the sport that didn't get done. Sooooooooooooooo close!!!
SO, my plan is to go and vacuum the carpet again.. REALLY good. Then I'll spray it one more time and be done with it. I really think this is going to work good. We'll see.
BTW, my seats still look fine. I'll getcha a picture of them later this weekend. They've lighteded up some, but it's been a year.. Come on!
Also, I have to ***** out my car a lil more, as I got it painted 2 weeks ago
If I could only get ALL of my pictures to show it that white, I'd be happy.
Anyway, updates later!

Here's the rest of t3h pics!
I sprayed it and then did the install Just so you know, the flash on the camera makes it look brighter than it is in person. It's very dark
Came out really good, I'm very happy with it! And something else that I noticed.. Idunno if it was because I left the carpet outside for a couple days and it aired or if it was because I vacuumed it really good before I installed it... But...
There was no "paint"smell!! Which is really good, considering I've had a migrane for the past 2 days
Enj0y guys!

I DO NOT recommend this to anyone!!!
He is not dying the carpet/seats, he is only painting them. Dying is a whole different process. After daily wear and tear the paint will start coming off. This is a real cheap way of doing it considering OP couldve gotten used DC carpet for cheaper than all those spray cans.
I used that spray can on my vinyl DC4 front seats, and it rubs off like crazy. I really want to get them re upholstered.
