Looks good but I'd be super nervous sitting on those OR putting my fresh sneakers on those mats/carpet.

for the effect/effort

Well.. During one of the trips to town, during this process, I put on the white shirt you see in the pic as well as SIT on a white shirt, so as to see if anything would come off.....
(que drum-roll)

Nothing.

I was suprised as well as my buddy. After you paint it, it's stiff (kinda crunchy, like I said in the first post) but after you rub yoru hand across it a few times, it softens up and feels like normal.

But I"ll vac. it out today so we'll see how well it all sticks. I'm curious as evrybody else is to see how it comes out.

But ya know.. I figure even if after a few weeks or a month or so, if it lightens up.. Heck, I'll spend $4.00 on a can to touch it up.

Dude, vacume vacume vacume! Also throw water on it and kick it and punch it. Bring a girl over and mess around on it, WHATEVER. You're the guinea pig here so let us know if it's gonna stand up!!!! Excellent DIY thread!

Very nice, I might do this sometime this weekend with my carpet too. It doesn't have any rips or anything just stains and is just ugly looking

I highly doubt this stuff will rub off if it's done properly. The factory stuff is dyed too. It's not like this is being done with Kool Aid or something, it's dye and if it does rub off it'll rub off like OEM stuff does, not stick to your clothes like it's wet.

Interior pics, as promised.. Late, but better late than never This is aafter a vacume.

I have NO clue what that stain is in the middle of my back seat. It's shown up since I the dye.

Now, here is the front/passenger side carpet. Yes, those are tan streaks than appeared after the vacume.
Why?
Because the carpet was still dirty. See, I have floor mats everywhere else but the passenger side, so it had more dirt on it than anywhere else. Even though I vacumed it real good before hand, I didn't get enough of the dirt out. Thus, I dyed more dirt than I did carpet and well, you see the results.
All you need to do is to clean the carpet VERY WELL ( better than I did anyway) and you should be fine. This didn't happen anywhere else, only on this side. I'll remedy it by cleaning it better and re-dying it.

Another bit of advice. The better condition your seats are in, the better this is going to come out. I say that because the spots where the fuzzyness ( for lack of a better word) on the seats had worn off over the years and was not as soft as other parts, thats where the dye doesn't stick to as well.
If you had cloth seats in near mint shape, I don't think you'd ever have a problem w/the dye not taking to the seat.

regardless, this is still an awesome thing. I highly reccomend this to anybody!

Enj0y.

I wonder if it works on sol seats because of their lack of "fuzzies"

Will do man. So far so oh very very good. No fading on the drivers seat or any of the other seats for that matter.. And I have 2 passengers every day. Still as black as when I first dyed it. The fabric is nice and soft now and feels like OEM.

Yes it has. I bought a lil air freshener thingy from Walmart thats made for home use. It's a Glade product that comes w/a little bottle of smelly stuff and a bettery and basically, it farts a very fine mist of stuff every 30 seconds or so. I have it on the lowest setting and my car smells good all the time. Cost like $7.00 and it'll last at least a month. And the refills are only $3.xx.
Even w/out that, I think the smell would hav ebeen gone in a week anyway.

You'd end up losing value on a set of Gs-r cloth seats....
