To me, the volks do look a lot different than the Grids, for example, the spoke design on both wheels is slightly different, the angles on the grids spokes are much more defined than that of the volks, The grids also have some what of a flat dished appearence on the side profile of the wheels, which is also a dead giveaway. The spokes on the grids are thicker than that the TE37's. But the most noticable difference between TE37's and Grids is the lip, the lip on the Grids is more dished and sticks out a little more than a TE37 would because of its +40 offset, the TE37 moreso relies on the center part of the wheel for the wheels offset. And of course, the authentic volk bronze finish cant be matched, i have authentic TE37 drag wheels so i know how nice the finish is.
but reguardless, they were good wheels.

Sorry for not asking to use your pics bretx0r.
Hey, how did you like those ES100's on your Grids? 205/45/16 right?
I'm in between those and Dunlop FM901's (which I loved ).

He asked to be banned. He hates this site.
BTW, you guys need another "race partner" this summer? I want to try out some road racing, but I've got a lot of upgrading to do (brakes, wheels/tires, susp) first.

I have grids in 16" they weigh 16 lbs each.... Te-37 in 19" they weigh 16 lbs. That's the biggest difference, there is a thread going for light weight rims. I really want real volks, but needed a fast replacement for my stolen oem si rims. The grids look the same as Te-37's with small differences, that have been stated already.
The two main things r weight and finish.

Re: On-Car comparison of Rota Grids and Volk TE-37's! (boostincoupe)
If you look at the 15 and 17in volks you will see they basically look the same the spokes are just longer. Because the rotas can't use the same material elongation as forged rims they have to be more defined between sizes.
Since volk uses less material and are designed to meet old DOT and JASMA ect test standards they are probably of equal strenght to the Rotas. Which will bend instead of crack like forged usually will.
The economies of scale being what they are it makes me sick that volk still msrps those wheels @ about 430 a pop over 3x more than the rotas

The weight is a pretty big difference. When I got my 16in TE's, I was shocked at how light the box it came shipped in weighed.

Re: (99SiRacer)
There is just never going to be an ending to the genuine wheels vs Rota copies. We just might as well face it. Some people would rather have the better more quality wheels but some people like me, can't afford or don't want to try to afford such expensive wheels. I know they aren't the same. I have Rota's on my car and they work for me. They are lighter than stock and haven't broken yet so there's no reason for me to worry about dishing out soo much cash on wheels. If I could afford real TE37 which I want I would prolly buy them but as I always say, people have their priorities.
