Default Brushed aluminum to polished looks like chrome?

Alright guys just spent the last 20 mins looking around for a tread about ASR braces... I found pics lol

QUESTION:

Is there a way to "polish" an ASR BRACE thats brushed aluminum in other words make it look like this?

<a href="http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c101/badassbrian/?action=view&amp;current=asrbrace-pol_d.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c101/badassbrian/asrbrace-pol_d.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I already have the brushed brace and just found out they have polished

I dont wanna spend another 250 on a ****in polished when im savin for recaro seats!

of course. It's just a matter of sanding the thing down with ultra fine grit on a belt sander.

I can make street signs look like a mirror given enough time.

^ What he said. If you don't have a belt sander you can do it by hand to, I did the same with my B+C pillar bars but I had to strip the paint off first.

I used a Mothers powerball and Meguiars metal polish but I think it would work even better with a liquid polish (like Mothers polish) instead of a paste. If you don't feel like wasting your money on a powerball you can also polish it by hand, but that's a lot of work. More polishing = more shine.

Reflective properties don't have anything to do with the material. It has a lot more to do with how smooth and even you can get the surface.

Holy cow, how many times did you polish it to get that result?
That's a chrome like mirror finish, you must have one powerfull arm!

its all in the sanding man.. you have to make sure and get rid of all the brushed lines first and then go up in grits from there..
