Here are a couple of more pictures of the key that activates the JDM keyless entry (infrared door handles, see this thread for more info).

Here is an interesting JDM parking sensor system. Both the front and the rear bumper have a sensor on each corner to help the operator of the vehicle to park in tight areas, and also useful for bumper to bumper driving in the busy streets of Japan.

A signal is sent into the cabin if the vehicle is too close to an object like a curb, another vehicle and any other object.

System is activated by a switch. ON/OFF.

Default 4th gen Prelude JDM chrome nostrils. Genuine Honda.

Here are JDM chrome nostrils. Very rare these days and many counterfeit examples exist. To tell a real from fake is simple. Just look on the back of the vent and you will be able too see that they are ivory bone color underneath. You can also see the white showing if there are any scratches in the chrome, even the slightest ones. A painted vent/nostil is black underneath.

Hello from the U.S. I'm in indiana. This post is awesome. I purchased all but the wire harness do install the rear wiper on my US Prelude. I also purchased the AC control conversion but It got lost when moving. If anyone has that to sell as a kit please contact me.

What? No photo of the actual CDM heated seat switches yet? This is from a Canadian SR-V.

Vehicle is wrecked, but interior is intact. This is not a FS thread, however you should PM me if you would like to know more about this vehicle and/or acquire the uber-rare heated (leather) seats - I am sure we can arrange something. There was more than one Prelude in the yard with this feature.

Here are some photos from the very rare, 1992 Honda Prelude German spec dealers brochure and accompanying color-spec booklet. I also included photos of the 1995 German 4 page promo pamphlet.

- Here is the booklet that shows color specs for 2.0i and 2.3i Preludes

Gathers center dash speaker ver.2

Here is a pretty nifty little feature called daytime running lights. Seen on some Canadian and European Ludes, this feature automatically turns on the inner part of the headlights.
Daytime Running Lights turn on automatically on cloudy and rainy days, and as well as sunset approaches.

Notice that the DRL's low beam is in the inner part of the headlight. Canada/Europe.

In USA, this area is designated for the high beam. The regular low beams are the outer part of the head lights. USA Ludes did not have DRL's.

Here are some pics...

If you have more info and pics on DRL's, please post them. Thanks.

^ Sure. DRLs run all the time when the car is ON, regardless of whether it's sunny or cloudy out. Essentially it operates as just a big resistor that dims the high beam headlights. A relay controls when to turn the DRLs off, such as when the headlights are turned on, or when the parking brake is released.

There WAS a JDM-only option which turned on the headlights when lighting dimmed (cloudy/rainy/dusk, etc.), which consisted of a sensor mounted on the dash and plugged in to your fuse box and wiring. A pretty redundant feature here in Canada or elsewhere with DRLs.

^ ah ok! thanks for clarifying that. Why are they on in sunny weather lol?

Is it easy to convert an USDM lude to have DRL's? any write ups?

Yes, it is possible. I have created a photo-DIY for 92-95 Civics that wish to make the conversion. Procedure for any 90s Honda will be about the same (all function similarly). I have sent some kits I've removed myself to buyers in the US and Germany.

Default 92-96 Prelude JDM OEM option Immobilizer System

Here is the JDM factory option Immobilizer System

Photos and Info courtesy of Vader87 from PreludeOnline.com

Here is how it works:

Notice the flashing red lights. The engine will not turn over.

Use this little "electronic Key"

Place in slot for 2 seconds

Red light goes off

Start car!

Also after inserting the key you have approximately 15-20 seconds before it re-arms itself. If for any reason the engine quits running, you still have the 15-20 seconds to restart it.

^ I been looking for that myself sir. I been digging deep into the caves of the JDM ore and still no luck at all.

It's probably hooked up similar to a security system. Has a module, harness, and a relay or two. Hooks up to the ignition.
