Default ****** Tasteful Honda Body Kits Picture and Discussion Thread *******

I know it's a little taboo, especially on this site, but let's face it; we all know that a good quality, modest body kit can look very nice on a Honda when done right. For example, C-west, Spoon, Backyard Special, Mugen, etc.

I've opened this thread to get going a civil discussion on body kits on Hondas, as every discussion I've seen on them has ended in flaming ruin.

Be warned. Any useless flaming will be reported immediately to preserve/police the civility of the thread.

Examples of perfectly respectable body kits on *gasp* Hondas!
****EDITED TO INCLUDE BODY KIT NAMES****
C-West EG

C-West EK

C-West DC

Mugen S2000

Spoon S2000

Backyard Special DC

Air Walker EP

Backyard Special Civic

Mugen RR

Phase TSX

White Crow EG w/Mugen lip

White Crow EG w/BYS lip

Let's hear some discussion on clean body kits on Hondas, and how they can work. Also plenty of pictures of clean kits on any honda are more than welcome. Remember, keep the discussion civil. This is a discussion thread possibly for future information and reference. Thanks guys/gals.

Remember everyone, the NSX is a Honda too.

Well, I created this thread because so many others have failed. I'm determined to have this be THE thread for the oh-so-taboo body kits on Hondas. As was suggested to me by a moderator via PM's, this thread will be policed, and ridiculous bull will be reported immediately before anything gets out of hand.

My suggestion to anyone willing to contribute positively to this thread is, if someone comes in spouting fire and brimstone, don't talk back to them hoping they will see the light. Just report it, have their post deleted, and we'll be back to a nice decent thread again.

Ok, here we are. That Rando Sports kit that was suggested earlier.

And here's one for the JDM Integra

Good to hear opinions, good and bad. So long as nobody starts screaming generalities at each other about whether or not all body kits are the rice devil of the past or our sacred roots as Honda tuners, I think this thread has a chance.

Alright, another good one here. Don't know what this one is, but S2000s sure can deliver, can't they?
EDIT: Upon some searching, I believe this kit to be Ings N-Spec

i think the reason bodykits are hated on so much is cause so many people made them look ridiculous and went to far with them. but ive seen cars in person with decent body kits. i personally think that bodykits are fine as long as their not over the top, for example that red crx in your second post is nice and clean and isnt over done

up for some more decent body kits

Yes, I agree. I believe body kits had started to get very popular, and then manufacturers may have tried too hard to find something different, and made that perilous step over the edge, creating the crazy stupid body work that many of us think of when we hear the term "body kit."

Also, I believe that the misinformed types who decide to put the cheapest kit they can find on their car, and then don't paint it are the main generality that we link to the term as well, and could be a reason why so many veer away from them altogether.

In my particular situation, the only reason I wouldn't get one is because I can't financially support getting the right one, and getting it put on properly. Also taking care of your body kit is a tedious job.

Bump. Can't forget this one, seen on many of H-T's hottest DC5s. Mugen does it again.

I've always had a soft spot for the Buddy Club2 kit for the EGs

It makes it proportional enough for some big rollers, IMO

I like several of the posted above, . If I had a 96-8 EK, I personally would do a Jun or would really love to do a full Zeal kit. Anyone have any pics of the Zeal??

The reason why the above pictured body kits work is because they were designed exclusively for the car intended. So they lines match up and the overal flow is preserved.

What had happend before was that copycats started to make one body kit that was designed for one particular car - and make that fit on EVERYTHING. So a buddy club kit that was only made for an EK was now available for EF's/EG's/Del Sols....and it cheapend it. I remember the Veilside kit was AWSOME, the design was so aggressive and cutting edge. But, it was only for higher end cars, not Honda's. But sure enough, it was copied and pasted on just about every car on the market. What was once a very exclusive and expensive aero kit made by a high end Japanese company was now a cheap, generic, joke of a kit used on everything CRX's to Mustangs. Even now, if I see a well built Supra with the Veilside kit - it just doesnt have the same impact as it did back in 98'.

So in my opinion, a body kit will only work if you get one that was designed for your car specifically. If you go out and buy a EG Whitecrow bumper and make it fit on EF hatch, it just wont work. Even worse if you copy and make it fit every car that is considered a "tuner" vehicle.

I agree with the thread so far. I've never been a fan of that kit on the pink hatch though.
