VTC actuator replacement and timing issue code P0341
Had an aviation mechanic friend replace my VTC actuator due to the cold start up noise. Well, car ran like crap and went back in and the timing was off a few teeth. Fixed that and the car ran a lot better but it is still a little slow/sluggish when moving from a stop. I am still getting code P0341.
Any ideas? When we were in there the marks on the actuator and other sprocket dealio were slightly off (like maybe a quarter of a tooth as opposed to pointing directly at each other in the 3-9 o'clock position) but that is as close as we could get because moving the chain another tooth would have made it off even more.
Could valves have been bent by being off a few teeth the first time? Chain stretched?

When the timing is slightly off like that the chain is indeed stretched. Being off that little shouldn't throw the code you're getting. Did you check your cam position sensors?

Are you just getting the "cold rattle" or are you getting a code - both?
