Default 2003 Accord door locking problem?

I just got a 2003 Accord EX v6 and the door lock switchs don't work. When u hit the switch either driver or passanger side u can hear a slight click under the dash, possibly a relay noise. The key with remote locks does the same thing. Any help???

If you manually lock or unlock the drivers door what happens?

Ouch. That's probably very bad. When you push the lock down on the drivers door the other locks should at least try to lock too.
Unfortunately you probably have a bad MICU (Multiplex Integrated Control Unit) which is inside of the drivers fuse box.
You will need to replace the fuse box and at least the drivers door lock actuator.

So you mean the entire fuse box? wow isnt there like relays that control the actuators?

The relays are there but I have never seen one go bad. The relays are controlled by the MICU.

I seem to be having the same problem but slightly different if you guys can help out it would be great.

2003 accord ex v6 coupe
passenger side lock will not engage when press my alarm remote to lock or unlock, it will however roll the windows down if I hold the button down. The drivers side locks and unlocks just fine, any clue? is it just the actuator on the passenger side? if it is, can some one point me to a "how to replace" that particular unit without sacrificing a limb? TIA

I have a similar problem with my accord 2006 EXL.
The key remote unlocks the driver door but when you press a 2nd time, it does not unlock the passenger and rear doors - instead i hear a clicking sound as if they are trying to unlock.
Using the key in the key cylinder produces same results (1st turn unlocks driver door but 2nd turn does not unlock the remaining doors). I cannot use the key to roll down the windows as a result.
However, the door panel master switch inside the car, locks and unlocks all the doors.
Also, the four doors unlock then lock on their own when i open and close the driver door with the key in the ignition
I think this problem may have to do with the MICU or the door multiplexer unit.

can anyone help me with ideas/explanations so i can fix the problem? Thanks in advance

if you can hear it clicking by putting you ear to the door, its probably an actuator but if both sides dont work(and this usually happens on '03, '04 coupes) you might need a micu.

Hey, having a very similar problem with my 2003 Accord V6. Doors won't lock with remote, or when lock **** is pushed down (well the door locks, but it won't lock the 3 other door like it should), or with rocker switches on driver's or passenger's door. But when I manually lock all doors the alarm will set with the remote. All other remote functions work: doors unlock, windows roll down, trunk opens, etc. I haven't noticed a clicking sound like you guys have said, so I'll have to listen for that. I actually followed the Honda service manual for testing the driver's door actuator by applying voltage and ground to the pins and it worked. I wonder if the actuator is just getting weak? I've seen the posts saying to just replace the actuator, but why wouldn't the other three work if it was just the driver's door actuator? Are the other 3 affected somehow by it's operation?

I saw in another forum someone suggested unplugging the input from the MICU to see if 12V is coming out when the remote is pushed. I'll try that and let you know how it goes.

Any thoughts would be apprecated!

I just had the same problem with a 2003 Accord LX. Initial symptoms keyless entry stopped working, could not unlock/lock/trunk/panic with key. Turn signals stopped working. A/C stopped working. High beams stopped working. Regular headlights and hazard/emergency lights were working. Drivers side power door lock switch would not lock or unlock but passanger worked. If the door was open the dash did not light up to show which door was open. All symptoms occurred at the same time. Checked the forums and self diagnosed as Multiplex unit, took in car and the Multiplex was returned to me with rusted pins - explaination was that moisture entered from loose connections from the wires where they plug into the multiplex. Replaced the multiplex unit but if the problem persists, the wire harness or at least the plugs from the wire harness would need to be replaced if they were not seating properly into the multiplex (MICU). The part alone was $200 and labor was $350. So if you can diagnose and replace it yourself you can probably save yourself alot of cash.

okay here's an update on my old post....

passenger side works fine still, however the driver side actuator seems to have given out....I hear the motor but I guess it hasn't the power to actuate, weird thing is that the passenger side will still lock and unlock with the keyless remote, I always thought that the driver's side was the master and the other door were slaves that needed to have the master to work in order for the slave ones to work.....I'll keep you guys updated, just ordered the drivers side actuator.

Continuing from previous post...I now intermittently have the remote key not working and the door lock switch on the driver's door won't work. If I start the car everything starts working again. Is this a problem anyone has come across before? Is this an actuator problem like the original poster of this thread? Any recommendations would be appreciated - don't mean to thread crap...but I would like anyone who is dealing with a similar issue's advice.

did you every fix the problem? it sounds like a MICU (Multiplex Integrated Control Unit) problem. I am going to change mine soon.
