Can you turn off seatbelt chime?
On my 06 Accord V6 6speed it beeps if you don't put your seatbelt on it and every few seconds keeps doing it until you finally put it on. It also does this for the passenger. This is very very very annoying. Is there a way to disconnect this or turn it off? I don't often not wear my seatbelt but if I just ride up the driveway or something I don't want this thing beeping the whole way.

maybe try going to a junk yard and seeing if you can't pick up an extra buckle or two and plug those in? Other then that i would say leave it like posted aboce safety!

Is this the same beeper that goes off when you have the key in the ignition, and the door open? I would certainly like to get rid of that sucker. I would be nice to be able to leave the key in and door open without that irritation.

It's not a problem buckling up as I do that it's just pita to hear this beep all the darn time. I can be running to the end of the driveway in it and beep beep beep the whole way. I'd love to not have this thing. In my truck there was a way they could program it to cut it off along with cutting the seatbelt light off. My buddy was telling me about this at the dealer. Is there anything like this for the Honda's?

I like how threads get off topic, the first post asked how to, the next post is about safety, lets keep it on topic.
How do u get rid of the beeping?

Anyone else know? I think if Honda wants to put something crappy like this on here they should make it something you can turn off fairly easily.

it's not crappy. it is for safety issue and every car has that function per law. But I guess clipping your seatbelt while the car is moving is too much of a pain in the behind for you. Geez

Again we are looking for a answer, Not someone to tell us about safety.
This has to be easy fix guys?

Okay, I found a solution to this problem for $60. I went out to ebay and bought two seat belt extenders. They're $30 each including shipping. You just snap one end into the female part of the seat belt and leave it there. VOILA! Problem solved! From that point on, your Honda thinks your seat belt is always hooked up. Not only that, it makes the seat belts easier to use.

Re: Can you turn off seatbelt chime? (kyphosticate)
No other car I have or really have been in that I know of beeps and beeps and beeps at you for this. Some do a few times then give up. Thats how they should have done this car. Then ones like my truck have the light like most cars that are always on but at the dealer they can turn this off so none of it comes on. Honda should have done something like this. The seatbelt extenders sound like they work but I don't want to spend $60 as like I said 99.9% of the time I wear my seatbelt it's just if I'm going up the driveway or something I don't always want to put it on. The driveway at one place is about a mile long so it's a nice little ride.

Can't tell you exactly how to do it with an accord, But for the 3rd gen CR-v's you just have to follow the buckle downwards. There will be two wires. Find a way to jump these wires, and it'll close the circuit. A closed circuit turns the light off, and that's what your belt does. It pushes in a little tab that turns the light and the beeping of. Either bend that tab so it's always touching, or jump the wire. Problem solved. Now send the hate mail or hate PM's this way. He asked a simple question...

Awesome. You know what else those 2 little wires do? Tell the SRS control unit your seatbelt is buckled which affects airbag deployment. So now you have the potential for airbag deployment in a situation where if you had not tampered with the system it normally may not have. Or it won't deploy when it should.
