All related threads were pretty old. TSB 09-010 refers.

First, my stats: 2009 EX-L (K24Z3) with 148K miles. I have the VTC Cold start rattle, which recently is getting worse: it's moving up to luke-warm starts, or restarts in moderate temperatures after only a couple hours of sitting. Seems like the 'run to failure' deadline for me is approaching

Q1: There was supposed to be an update to the part which was in the works: Is there a better part available now than the original? TSB 09-010 dated October 6, 2012 lists as 14310-R44-A01.
Q2: Has anyone tried this at home and put together a guide- or would anyone want to have such a guide? [Reason I ask: there are lots of great, illustrated how to's on the 90-02 forum which have saved me on my other ('94) Accord. I can't find anything like that 'stickied' here. TSB is five years old and written for access to Service Manual and a Honda toolbox.]
Q3: Any updates on solutions other than replacement? Some folks have suggested particular oil brands, and one suggested (years ago, with no feedback) replacing half the oil with trans fluid (Yikes!).

Appreciate any info, esp. on Q1.

The updated VTC Actuator is Honda part number 14310-R5A-305.
