i have a 04 accord lx and a couple months ago my front side passenger side door started not being able to unlock wether we use the key or the inside switch the locking pin (the piece that sticks up to see if the door is locked or not cant think of the name for the life of me lol) fell off and dontknow if thats the issue or a actuator im not very car savvy but am a quick learner how wouldi go about diagnosing what the issue might really be?

I recommend watching this DIY which has helped me replace my door speakers: It's a pretty easy job taking the panel off, but take your time as there are fragile mechanisms everywhere behind the panel, including a small green plastic tab that can easily break if you pull your panel too far from the door frame before disconnecting everything. It helps to have someone help you keep the panel on the door while at the same time trying to remove it. Once the door is completely off you can diagnose the problem easier as you can pull on different hinges and see how the locking system is designed.
