03 Accord will not shift from park...
I recently bought an 03 as a daily, everything was fine for the first 3 weeks or so of ownership but now, it will not shift from park.
I hear a light click coming from the column area when I press the brake/push the button on the shifter.
When it first happened I of course jumped on google which told me to check the brake lights, make sure cruise functions properly and if they did not to replace the brake switch. So I did, this did not help. My brake lights work fine, cruise works fine and the little green light on in the cluster work (the one that tells ya what gear youre in)
Ive tried finding info for testing the shift interlock system/solenoid but can't find anything (see custom user title).
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Have you checked fuse 21 (7.5amps) in the under dash fuse/relay box? Fuse 21 also feeds power to the back-up lights and several other things so if the back-up lights work then it should be fine.

Well there are some things you need to check. You need to check your TP sensor voltage on the Red/Black wire. You should have 0.49-0.51 volts with the ign switch in the on position. That's something that you can check fairly easily. Next I would want to know if the "shift lock solenoid" actually works. To do that the easiest way is to remove the console panel around the shift mechanism that has the seat heater switches on it. It is fastened only by some clips so you just have to gently pry it up with a small flat blade screwdriver or something similar. Go to the 2 pin shift lock solenoid connector and make sure you have battery voltage on the Red wire at the 2 pin connector for the solenoid. If you do, with it plugged up, jumper the Solid Blue wire to body ground. If the solenoid clicks and the shifter moves out of Park then we need to look at other parts of the circuit.

Re: 03 Accord will not shift from park...
I might be no help here, but I'll try my best...
I had the exact same problem a few months ago, and I also have an '03 accord. I don't remember what the part is called though. Maybe brake light switch...?? It's located under your brake pedal. When you push the brake pedal, and you hear that clicking noise, that's the switch being pressed.
Mine was doing it for a while. On the left side of the shifter there's a little plastic piece that comes out with the help of a knife. If you push down on it w/ a screw driver the car then shifts fine from park into gear.
Anyway, after I replaced the switch everything worked fine. Hope this helped...

Sorry that didn't help.
Here's another symptom I had. My brake lights worked fine when I was in park. But once I pushed in the bypass w/ a screwdriver to get out of park they stopped working.
Wonder if you were to try that would happen...??

Re: 03 Accord will not shift from park...
CEL finally popped up, ran the scanner and came back w/P0122. Checked the TPS it had 0v @ 0% & 4.8v @ 100%. So I got a used TPS to test, calibrated it and had .5@0 & 4.8v@100.
Fixed my issues, sucks that I had to go to the parts store to clear my code though. We're happy now! Lovin' the car!

Re: 03 Accord will not shift from park...
Problems back, I replaced the TPS with a used one from a local shop. Lasted about a month then BAM right back at it again.
So, I guess we're going to save up for a NEW throttle body w/TPS from Honda and install it.
