Default What brake fluid?

I have a 2004 accord and having lost my manual long ago, can someone tell me exactly what brake fluid to use? Preferably a brand and type thats available at kragen or auto zone. Last time i looked for brake fluid all i found was synthetic. Thanks.

Any stock vehicle comes with regular DOT 3 brake fluid. Brand doesn't matter, just don't mix them. I just get the Pyroil brand. It comes in a large container for like $5. Never had a problem and i use them in all my honda's and other vehicles.

EDIT: Just realized your from la crescenta too! That's pretty wierd how i would post on a guy from la crescenta. I bet you've seen me around, I drive a blue honda fit with bronze wheels.

DOT 3 or DOT 4 is fine for your Accord. If you want to see the owner's manual, use the following link, it is free:

I also have been using Pyroil brake fluid (non-synthetic) from Kragen or Walmart for years on family cars without a problem.

Ahhh....the "don't mix brands" thing means i guess i better get honda fluid unless i'm going to bleed them till it's all renewed, and i really don't want to. So i guess i'll have to go with honda because thats whats in it now.

As to la crescenta, i just moved to glendale a month ago after over 30 years in la cresenta, or more accurately, montrose.

Don't waste ur money on honda brand brake fluid cuz its expensive and unecessary. You can just pour in the pyroil brand with no worries. What i meant by the "don't mix brands" i meant to say "don't mix types of brake fluids" that means don't mix DOT 3 with DOT 4 or MOTUL500 fluids. Your accord comes with stock DOT 3 brake fluid so go buy DOT 3 brake fluid only, not DOT 4. Thats what i meant.
