Vtec engagement on 7th gen...
I'm asking this for a friend of mine. On the 6-6 '05 Accords what is the Rpm range that Vtec engages. And with an intake will you hear the crossover say like you do with the K20?

Re: Vtec engagement on 7th gen... (Tyte-S)
Also, how tight of a fit was it. I know for the k20 you have to relocate some things for a CAI. Any thing like that with the J series?

On my 2006 6-6 the secondary intake opens at 4000 and the car comes on the cam at 5000.
I'm assuming that 2005 J30 is the same.
Since the 2006 6-6 cars already have cold air intakes, most of us are not thinking about that. At least, I don't think so. :-) The intake has a resonator and an air pickup in the left front fender well, just like the DC2 ITR had.
I'm sorry but I don't know if the pre-Facelift cars are the same.

It doesn't push you back in the seat all at once, IMHO, but there is a huge amount of torque available if you're in a hurry.
It's fairly impressive, IMHO.
I think these motors are a little under-rated by most people. I mean, c'mon, now....
Are we really supposed to believe that a car that puts down 223 HP on a Dynojet is really only rated at 244 SAE Net HP?
I think that manufacturers other than Honda would've rated this motor at 260-270 SAE Net HP.
