vibration: warped rotors vs warped tires...
i just bought a 06 accord lx coupe. 30k miles. very nice inside and out.. i didnt notice on the thes drive but there is some vibration during braking. im about 70% sure its a warped rotor.
I was at a america's tire to patch a hole in a tire form another car, i asked the tire doood to check out my car. He said my rear tires are concave or convex..basically the tire surface that touches the road isnt the right shape.. he said it will usually wear itself out and will be ok..he said it will sound like a slight drone in the back and maybe vibrate a bit. this is making me think my braking vibration is really a warped tire...
is there a test or something i can do to determine which is the cause?

its your rotors. alot of times. when cars sit on car lots for a while they build up so much rust. that when you finally drive them it leaves grooves in the rotor. either replace them or get them resurfaced.

Re: vibration: warped rotors vs warped tires...
The first thing I would do is get the wheels balanced. On my 05 Accord, when I brought it to the track, I noticed it would vibrate during high speeds and while braking from high speeds. Because our cars have such a strong tendency to warp rotors, I believed the rotors were warped, as the tires were put on brand new by the stealership. Well, it turns out, that the tires simply needed to be balanced; just another ridiculous move made by the stealership, this time they threw the cheapest tires they possibly could on there, without even balancing them.
Despite my car sitting on the lot for two months, according to the carfax report(it is a v6 I bought back when gas was 4.25 a gallon and the v6 Accords could be had for several thousand below KBB) and me making 10 quarter mile runs in 2 hours in 80 degree weather last summer, including brisk stops from 100 to 5 mph, the rotors never warped.
