vibration at low speed on 2nd gear
2006 Accord I4 5MT 120k miles
The steering wheel doesn't vibrate. It feels like the wheel/drivetrain is vibrating. Only happen at low speeds as I shift to 3rd gear and increase speed it's gone. Axles/CV boots are not torn. Drives fine on the freeway no shakes. Anyone experiencing this?

Re: vibration at low speed on 2nd gear
it's not a tire issue since it happens all the time and the steering wheels doesnt shake. it only happens at 15-25 mph and it goes away. it feels like the axles are shaking. but on the freeway it's smooth no shake. go figure.

then take it to a honda dealership and have them look at the steering system cause it sounds like something from the steering system is loose.

Re: vibration at low speed on 2nd gear
Me and my wife both have 08 accords that do this exact same thing.
V6 auto's.
When I pull out normally (not hard) and it is hits second gear - around 20-30 mph - the car shakes, then smooths out.
It rides smooth as silk after that. I know it isn't the CV joints or anything in the drive. It's the engine or the transmission somewhere.... bad computer programming... or something.
If I am driving solid at 20-30 mph (down a side road), there is no shaking... only does it when pulling out (going through gears).
Car just hit 50k miles, and I'd like to drive it another 50k... but this annoys me highly.
Oh, and both cars just got brand new tires and brakes too. Happened before & after.

Re: vibration at low speed on 2nd gear
Omega88 most likely has torque converter shudder. Have the dealer update the PCM to the latest program. It should help and shouldn't cost more than a half hour labor. The latest programs have a different shift map to help with the t/c shudder issue. Eventually this shudder will damage the t/c so don't ignore it. If the t/c is damaged, updating wont help. The transmission has to be removed to replace the torque converter and the t/c itself isn't exactly cheap.
As for the op...not sure. Totally different car, totally different problem.

Re: vibration at low speed on 2nd gear
Thanks DELuth, I will have this looked at...
We have mentioned this to the dealer before while there for other reasons... they just blew us off both times.
Doesn't matter. Never buying a car from Rusty Wallace Honda again anyway.
Thanks again.
