Used 2003 Accord: Auto negine sensors "cleared"
I am looking at a 2003 Accord owned by a private seller. My mechanic looked the car over and found a a number of maintenance problems tha tare fixable. But the big problem he found is that the engine sensors had been 'Cleared". I had a hard time understanding what this means. In fact the mechanic could tell me that the clearing had occurred in the last 30 miles. My sellers claims to know nothing, but admits to having done an oil change in the last few days? Any thoughts?

sure I my thought is there would be no way for YOUR mechanic to know how long codes had been cleared

Maybe needed a boost and the battery was taken out or dead. this can cause the codes to clear. if there are any they will show up once you drive it around for the next couple of days.
good luck with your new car!
