Trading in for a 08 Honda Coupe V6
Hey all...got a few questions. I have an 04 Accord EX that I want to trade in. I'm sure I'll be upside down...my payoff quote is $15,477.48. Any suggestions as far as the best strategy to get the best pricing on the 2008 coupe? I NEED this car in San Marino Red Lol...

Best way not to get screwed is to keep it, or sell it yourself.
Otherwise they'll tack on the difference onto the final sales price. I think you should keep it since it sounds like you've let em had you once already.

haha yeah they had their way with me the first time b/c I was desperate...my old car had broken down and I needed whatever I could get. And the person who was supposed to negotiate for me (it was my first purchase) didnt do a good job of it.

So who is going to be the negotiator in the new deal? Honestly, you cannot blame someone else for not negotiating for you. When you're at the dealership, the ball is in your park, you can choose to walk out at absolutely any time.
I'd hate to see them tell you they'll pay off the 15K if you buy a new car from them today, and have them tack it on over an 8 year period instead of 5 or 6 and you'll end up paying off this accord for 20K minus what they sell it for and the new 08 accord you want. After their finance charges of course...
Whats wrong with the current accord that you want to trade it in? If it's to be cool, ever consider leasing?
There's plenty to consider prior to getting a new car, but everyone's in a different situation.

I figured the 08 trade-ins were why 7th gens were going for relatively cheap.

go into the dealership and tell them you wanna pay 225 or less over invoice and ask to see the invoice.Make sure you let them know your serious.ask them to run your credit for the loan and after that if you approve you set the price...they know you an walk out with one that day so they will do anything to finish the sale even if its 225 or less over invoice .and if they cant then tell them SEE YAHHH.....!
im sure there is tons of honda dealerships where your at....with the way the market is its a buyers market....you set the price!
thats what my experince is when i got my 08 sedan.
im not sure how consignment works..i think thats when you park it a lot and they sell it at the price your looking for.? not too sure how that works but an option.. kinda hard when the economy suxx ****.
good luck
