Default Tinting Issues

Just got my windows tinted and at the top of the rear window the dot matrix looks pretty crappy. I was thinking about putting a 6" decal across the back window just to cover up the matrix. Does anyone know a good place to get this type of thing? I can only find the full window decals.

Many of the bigger tint shops will paint or airbrush over those dots instead of tinting, that'll eventually be the source of the tint bubbling and such.

The dot matrix's don't hold well with the tint, you need to get something like a vinyl banner put up in there. I just had it done in my car as well. Black vinyl will make it look like the black trim around the outside edges of the glass

That is exactly what I did yesterday. Went to a place and they put a black vinyl strip across the top and it looks WAY better...I would definately recommend it.

Do you have any pics of what the back looks like after the vinyl strip was put on? I have an 05 accord coupe and the dot matrix drives me crazy. I need a good solution.

The shop just cuts a piece of black vinyl to fit, and applies it to the inside of the window.

How does it look from the inside of the car? Can you tell that it was added?

Not at all. This is what most tint shops do.

Lol, older post.

It looks from the inside and outside like it's part of the black trim surrounding the window. You really do not notice it.

I still would like to see a pic of the vinyl from the outside. I have been told that is the best solution, but I am still wanting to see it first before I do it. Does any one have pics?

i personaly do tint, and what happens, its that i sand a lil bit the dots with 800grit, and instead of putting soap in the water, i do it plain water.(just in the dots part)
that makes the glas look way better...

Sorry to keep asking for pics of the vinyl on an Accord, but does any one have some pics to share? I really do appreciate the input on what to do and what not, but the tint is already done, so I need to make some changes. I am pretty sure from what every one has said, that vinyl is the way to go, but I still would like to see some good pics to build my confidence before I do it.
Thanks for all the info
