Timing belt video
Hey, any idea where I can find a good video of a timing belt change? I've found a good write-up but no video of the 03 accord v6. Any help would be awesome.
If no vids, any tips? I've got the crank pulley tool and am just waiting for my week off to give it a go.

Re: Timing belt video
I've seen a few posted here and there.
If you are going to keep the car for a while, spend ~$27 for the service manual. Go to "automanualsource.com" and they have a download for ~$23 - hope you have a good internet - or you can get a CD shipped for ~$27.
I'll compare the 03 v6 to the wifes 07 Pilot and see if they are the same, just did hers two weeks ago.....nothing really special on hers, take your time, make a few marks on the old belt and gears, transfer the marks on the old belt to the new one.....done.
I got the gates kit (in my case TCKWP329) that came with all of the idlers, hyd tensioner, belt and water pump. Was prepared to do the seals but they looked ok (?) so I did not. I find it easier to set and keep the timing at TDC #1 with the plugs out....so new spark plugs went back in.

Re: Timing belt video
I think Ericthecarguy has a video on J series timing belt change. I think he did an Acura, but it's basically the same engine. Still, even with the video, you would still need a service manual for all the specifics like torque values and sequences. I hope you have something powerful, to remove the crank bolt. I would make sure you can get the crank pulley bolt off first, before you get too deep into it.

Re: Timing belt video
I've got the tool and there's another couple vids out there that actually suggest crank the car for half a second with a breaker bar on the crank bolt... That way scares me, but if all else fails... I've seen ericthecarguys video advertised for about $10. Small investment I know but something about posting an ad pissed me off when everyone else just posts to help.

Re: Timing belt video
I thought the video was free, but it must have been the valve adjustment video I watched. I certainly didn't pay to watch a video. The videos help, just for seeing it happen, but IMO you need the service manual because even the best video doesn't show you every little thing. I did my timing belt in the driveway with only the service manual to go by. I had to use a BIG impact gun to get the crank bolt off. I wasn't going to try the starter trick, because as tight as that bolt was, I might have broken something. Good luck
