I'm new to the forums; thanks for all the helpful info here.

I'm shopping for a new sedan, and while I've always been a Nissan fan, the 2008 Accord is (to my surprise) really close to the top of my list. I test drove one on Sunday, and REALLY liked it. In my judgment, the interior, including general fit and finish, as well as the comfort of the seats and clarity of the controls, was clearly better than my other top choice, the Altima. The drivetrain, including smoothness of the transmission shifting and acceleration, didn't seem quite as good as the Altima, but was still quite impressive. The Accord EX-L V6 will probably end up being a little less expensive than a similarly-equipped Altima 3.5 SE, and have more space. Finally, Honda's general reputation for quality and lack of maintenance is outstanding. I'm really torn on which one I'll do.

My question - how do people think the stock premium sound on the 2008 Accord compares to the stock premium sound on the Altima? I know the Bose in the Altima is not the greatest system in the world, but I know it isn't bad, either. In addition to the stuff above, this is one of the factors going into my decision, so I'd appreciate any thoughts people could offer. Thanks very much.

bose is a name that stupid people think is good. its decent at best, but nothing to brag about.


i have no idea about the 08, but the stock stereo system in my 03 accord is amazing, i love it. 08 can only be better.

For a stock system it is really good...but it is still a stock system. I will probably be leaving the stock deck alone but will eventually be adding some amps, subs and components down the road......

In one phrase... its a stock system. If your a real audiophile, go aftermarket. Personally I keep my music and my driving separate. I wish I could get a v6 manual without moon roof or stereo

i just picked up an 08 accord about 2 weeks ago (2 dr) and the system in it is pretty good.

I test drove and EXLV6 with premium sound and I didnt like. Of course, I do have a great system in my 06 Solara that may NOT be easily transferred to a 08+ coupe becuz of the noise cancalation system in the EX models. It seems if you install a sub amp with sub, the noice canceling system mics pick it up and sends out a canceling sound that make the base sound muddy and ghostly. Im search now for a solution. Some one told me to just disconnect the mics of the noise system. IM not sure that's it tho. Anyone else heard of this problem and solution??? If I dont find one, Im not gonna buy the car!
