Sluggish Accord with 49k miles
Hello everyone?
I have a 2005 Accord 4-cyl automatic with 49,300 miles on it. Over past year, I've noticed a noticeable decline in acceleration and gas mileage. As far as the acceleration goes, it's good when you drive it in the mornings and drive the 1 mile or 2 after the car has been parked all night. When I step on the gas the car seems like it’s going to drown and very slowly picks up. :-(
I have been doing regular oil changes with Mobile 1 full syntactic since the day I purchase it brand new, The tires are new and filled with nitrogen, the transmission fluid was changed to the new synthetic transmission fluid from Honda, brake fluid change, new air and cabin filters, new hawk brake pads and brembo rotors. I recently Sea foamed the car but didn’t help. No engine lights are on. I took it to the mechanic and he said everything is fine. But it was in the AM and he drove it around the corner. (
No engine lights are on, the mechanic check the computer and said no codes are being generated. I had the car for 8 years and even my wife has noticed the lack of acceleration.
I ordered NKG spark plugs from Amazon which I am going to replaced next week but according the maintenance schedule it is not due for a tune up until 100,000 miles.
Any clues?

I'd want to see what the O2 is reading/doing - Upstream O2 sensor.
Sounds like the "issue" only shows up once the car goes into closed loop.
EDIT: And if your "tech" says it can't be the O2 because there is not a code being "set" for the O2......IMHO, find a new "tech" to take your car to.

I replaced the sensor by the air filter and the car is performing better but not 100%. Where is the Upstream O2 sensor ? is it the one connected to the Catalytic Converter part # 36532-RAD-L12 ? or someplace else? Thank you

Honda's list price is $179.27. I can have one shipped to your door for $144.07 if you're in the lower 48-States.
The secondary O2, 36532-RAD-L12 which you listed, is for KL California emissions equipped vehicles. This sensor is $311.73 list, largely because it's a niche market part. You don't need this unless you live in California.
If you don't live there, you can get away with running the 49-State 36532-RAA-A02 for the secondary "downstream" O2, which lists for $101.25, which I could have shipped to your door for $87.90 if you need it.
Hopefully this cleared somethings up for you.
