I have a 2011 Honda Accord EXL. I have notice that the car doesn't accelerate near as well as my 2006 Accord. The 2011 has 190 HP and the 2006 has 166 HP. I don't understand why the newer car is lagging. It's not due for plugs until 105k. My fuel economy is also lower than the other car. On a recent trip, I was only getting 28 MPG. I changed the air filter and it went up to 30 MPG. I then tried 93 octane and I got 34.5 MPG. Any ideas?

I would first check the transmission fluid, if it's really dark or hasn't been changed in a while look up youtube's of how to do it. if that's fresh, it could be just the design of the transmission or you have worn friction/ whatever plates in the tranny. that'd be my guess. only way to rule out a design probalem is drive another same year car to see
