Default runs hot at idle with fans on! (wierd)

havent had this problem till it got hot. i did all the little stuff to stop the overheating like new oem honda thermostat, 2 new temp sensors, new radiator, new timin belt, new waterpump, new headgasket and the system was bled of air. but also when i drive 55 it stays cool and when i get up to 70 or 75 then it starts to creep up! heres another thing, when im at idle and it starts runnin hot after 3 minutes of idling then as soon as i hit the gas and pull off, the needles look like it goes down rapidly back to normal! even with the ac on it tends to run hot...any advice?..thanks

oh yea...95 accord vtec

You may also want to check for Engine/Exhauste back pressure issues especially if you noticed any issues with your head gasket. You may have an exhauste component going bad.

if you spent THAT much money on all that engine work, i wouldn't be shocked to find out that your engine head is cracked or warped due the overheating. Aluminum heads

he didn't say it was loosing water. but yeah... if you replaced the head gasket and didnt surface the head you might have screw yourself

i bet its an air bubble in the cooling system......get a spill free coolant funnel... gets all the air out...

Ok now for the really weird stuff. Actually not so weird but very interesting and most likely not the problem here, but I like sharing the story. I worked as a service adviser and we had a car come in that would overheat at an idle only when the A/C was on. Under all other conditions, it ran fine. The vehicle had two electric fans. One would come on as needed for normal cooling, and the other would come on when the A/C was engaged. The tech came to find out that the factory had wired the A/C fan backwards. So, as the car sat at an idle, and both fans were running, a sort of vaccume was created and no cooling was taking place. Strange but true.

Ok, time to grab at straws, so to speak. Other things to check, it is possible that the coolent gage itself is defective or there could be a wiring, or grounding issue, or some other electrical component causing voltage issues.
I didn't see where you changed the hoses. I have seen hoses break down from the inside and cause restrictions.
How is the oil pressure? Oil not only lubes the engine but can play a part in heat dispersion or heat build up via restrictions etc.
Have the computer checked for error codes that could indicate an engine fuel/air/mixture or timing issue.
Are the spark plugs the correct application, and are they gapped correctly?
Is there anything else that would be causing a drag on the engine, for example, if a A/C system is overcharged, the compressor turns harder and puts a heavy drag on the engine. Or, new piston rings that fit too tightly. Not saying thats the case, just saying something of that nature to think about.
While we are grabbing at straws, are you using a good grade of gas, proper rating that sort of thing. Best of luck.

Ok, I did some research and came accross a couple of interesting fixes. One issue was a water pump that was worn enough that the impellers could not circulate enough coolent at an idle. At high speed, again the impeller being worn, could not keep up with the demand. The other case was loose or worn belts slipping and not being able to drive the water pump until the engine gained some rpm. Again at high speed, the demand was too heavy for the belt to keep the water pump turning sufficently enough to cool the engine. I see you did change the water pump, so check out the belt thing.
