Recorded Noise; Expansion Valve Issue?
 

hey everyone, a few folks have started threads with similar noises but they did not update us and i could never find out the solution to what i thought was also my problem.

@slowcivic2k seems to think (as do I) that the issues described by others might be tied to the expansion valve letting off gas, causing the whistle noise. Below is my situation, any help is appreciated.

The noise sounds like a turbo firing up on a truck or perhaps compressed air being released with a slight whistle (the whistle ramps up in pitch and volume) and last a few seconds, but cycles about 4 times a minute. It occurs when the AC is running on low fan speed, does not occur when the AC is off. I recently replaced the Cooling Fan bc it was needed and the compressor seems to be new according to my mechanic. after having the fan installed, the temp is cold (47°F) and runs great, albeit the whistle. Seems to occur on the right side of the vehicle, although i cannot be certain.
