I'm in the market for either an older TSX or a 7th gen Accord (i4).

After combing through the net about why people like one over the other, the biggest thing that comes to mind is the handling difference. Can anyone who has driven both comment on how significantly 'sharper' handling is in the TSX vs the Accord? Accords I've driven aren't so Buick and Camry like, that I'd think the TSX would be significantly better.

I'm a family man w/ 2 little kiddos so the Accord's space and lower cost of ownership appeals to my practical side. <sigh> Even so, the extra 40 horses, premium interior, Acura name, or even the Japanese VIN aren't enough to tip the scales for me. However, the handling interests me, because I absolutely adore the Del Sol SI I'll be selling off.

I'd love to hear what you guys have to say either way!

i have driven both and i have a 06 TSX 6 speed... the handling on a TSX is sportier than the accord. I have two kids myself and everyone getting into the TSX isnt cramped at all. Considering you going to have the kids in the car are you going to neeed a sporty suspension or something a little less to not tempt you to push it around a bend. My car is to and from work so for me i picked the TSX.

As a current owner of a G8 and a past owner of a G7 Accord, I'm actually more impress with the overall feel of the G7. Meaning it does have a better "quality" feel to it. With that said, if one was to do some springs and shocks, and 17" wheels, I would bet the Accord would very much feel like a TSX, if not better.

Conisdering the TSX drinks premium fuel, and with the price of gas, I would get the Accord.

Why not get the V6 Accord? You can, around here at least, pick up a great condition one with decent mileage for like 17-18k. I'm guessing you're trying to spend closer to 12-14k?

Still takes regular fuel as Drew mentioned but you don't lose any horsepower in the comparison. You can even get them in 6speed if that floats your boat.

I've driven both the current gen TSX and Accord 4 cyl on track. The TSX definitely feels more connected with the road, is firmer, has less body roll and superior traction.

much of this however could be aided with better tires. The TSX pretty much felt like a fat RSX.

Ideally, I'd like to drive both to test them out, but it'd be a bit difficult to find a used car lot or private party that would let me drive their car a bit more aggressively than normal.

Sounds like the strut braces and thicker sways would make a difference. Having a growing family, I'm feeling the Accord's extra space would win out over the TSX's better handling. Who knows....

Now I just have to think about i4 over v6.

idk where you are located but my dad is selling his 05 accord v6 coupe 6spd. red with tan leather and has the factory HFP package on it. it has about 65k on it i could be wrong on the mileage. BLAST to drive. pm me
