Default QUESTIONS ABOUT REAR END CONVERSION

I recently got my blue 05 v6 6-speed a few months ago and im now interested in doing a rear end swap. i want the whole conversion with the trunk, led tail lights, bumper and all that from the 06-07. ive been a member of h-t for a while and used the search but havent found anything about this on here yet. i know its possible but i was wondering if all the parts are bolt on, and how much it would cost. im also wondering if the exhaust flushes right into the bumper as it would if i got the 06-07 rear. i am very interested in this mod and would like any help possible. Thanks in advance for any help or tips.

It's a lot harder than you think. Serious modifications have to be made. You should have just bought an 06-7 in the first place. I think it would be cheaper that way.

not exactly... it's been done, if he is talking about the coupe.

what you need xjohnny817x is the 06-07 trunk, the high stop led that sits in the trunk, the left and right LED tail lights, a conversion harness that will hook your wiring on your existing lights, and the 06-07 rear bumper. + getting the bumper and trunk painted. it's all bolt on, no "serious modification" .. just may cost money... i think the trunk is around $450, the rear bumper is about $300.. lights are a little over a 100 dollars each... plus you need to get it painted. you're looking at a little over a grand. i would just wait for someone to tailgate you then slam on the brakes.

Yes, I have seen one, but from what I remember there is some modification that has to be done. The mounts for the bumpers are different, and the quarter panel does not line up perfectly with the bumper or the lights. Wiring for the lights is also different. So it's not just "bolt on" from what I've heard.
