I've got 21K+ on my 08 Accord (bought last July). I changed the first oil according to the Maintenance Minder (MM) at 9K+ when it was 5% or so. Feeling this may be too much, I thereafter changed oil about every 5k. Obviously they (dealer) reset the MM every time the oil was changed.

As a result, the maintenance item codes (A/B, 1,2,3...) have NEVER shown. My question is:

1. Are these codes also 'reset' when the 'oil percentage' code is reset?

2. By changing oil earlier than what the system indicates, will the other maintenance items' monitoring be influenced?

3. Is it that these codes will only appear when the oil is below 15% (when the wrench shows up) or they can show up any time regardless of the oil life percentage?

4. Is it normal that the maintenance item codes have never shown up in my case?

The manual says just following the maintenance minder and don't change oil too frequently. But in my case, the oil life percent won't drop to 15% until running 7k/8K + from the last reset... How often do you guys recommend?

just follow the MM, the reset only resets the oil life remaining. the monitors and sensors work the same at 5 or 95% when there is or isnt a problem. so, dont worry, just keep following the MM. but, i would change the oil at 15% at maxx. once it hits 20%, start scheduling ur next stealership visit. you asked so many questions, hope this helps b/c im too lazy to scroll up & see if i missed sumthin.
